Welcome to the heart of Italy.

Cycling in Italy is always a highlight. But on this exploration tour, our route doesn't take us to the well-known Italian Alps, but deep into the south of the country, into the majestic Apennines, the backbone of the Italian boot. Here, we'll encounter dreamy mountain passes, some of which are also traversed by the famous Giro d'Italia, such as the legendary mountain finish at Blockhaus. Yet, in the Apennines, everything is a bit quieter, more authentic, and wilder.

The most beautiful cycling routes of the Apennines can be found in and around the Abruzzo region. Chief among them is Gran Sasso with its Campo Imperatore, a vast, barren plateau surrounded by snow-capped peaks that are nearly 3000 meters high. The Blockhaus, a daring dead-end road in complete seclusion, as well as the fantastic passes in the national parks, are among the highlights. Our week-long journey combines all these iconic Giro routes, breathtaking views, and the lonely hidden gems of the unknown high mountains.
