Road bike holidays at Lago di Levico
Road cycling at Lago di Levico
Active holiday and pure relaxation: the Lago di Levico
Lago di Levico near the small historic spa town of Levico Terme is the second-largest lake of the Sugana Valley in the Italian province of Trentino. The well-asphalted and almost traffic-free roads around the lake make this a top destination for road bikers. The idyllic Sugana Valley and the stunning panoramas of the Dolomite peaks make road bikers especially happy.
Tips for road cycling tours around Lake Levico
Road biking in the region around Lago di Levico and the adjacent Lake Caldonazzo opens many possibilities for your road bike tour. One of the highlights is the route across the Kaiserjägerstraße (Strada del Menador). This is an old military road which was built by the riflemen of the Kaiserjäger corps during World War I to supply the deployed troops with weapons.
If you prefer it a bit more difficult, then you should take a tour to the Manghen Pass. It is one of the most beautiful tours in Trentino. The route is 21 kilometres long and takes you uphill to 2,047 metres above sea level – this route is not for untrained muscles though.
