Classic with cult status in the Alps
The Maratona dles Dolomites in the Dolomites is one of the absolute must-rides. When thousands of racing bike fans conquer the legendary passes around Alta Badia, the atmosphere is unrivalled. Completely closed roads, iconic climbs such as the Sella Pass or Falzarego and the feeling of being part of something big – goosebumps guaranteed.
No less spectacular: the Ötztal Cycle Marathon. With over 5,000 metres in altitude and four Alpine passes, it is considered one of the toughest cycling marathons in Europe. Those who start here are looking for the ultimate challenge and will be rewarded with unforgettable impressions. And if you are looking for a pure challenge, the Glocknerkönig is a must: the race on the Grossglockner High Alpine Road is a real mountain spectacle with breathtaking views and a finale at over 2,400 metres.
The Dreiländergiro Nauders offers international flair. The route leads through Austria, Italy and Switzerland and combines a sporting challenge with the unique diversity of the landscape around the Reschen Pass.
Racing bike enjoyment meets event feeling
The Tannheimer Tal cycling marathon is also one of the absolute highlights in the road cycling calendar – and not just on race day itself. A varied programme awaits you around the event that goes far beyond the marathon: from guided rides and technical workshops to joint tours with experienced guides, the racing bike community is very important here.
The racing bike weeks with ex-professional Marcel Wüst are a particular highlight. Both in the preparation week and in the road bike week at Whitsun, participants benefit from his experience, valuable tips and perfectly coordinated training sessions. The actual cycling marathon offers the right challenge for every level with several route variants – from enjoyable to demanding. Combined with the supporting programme, the result is an all-round harmonious experience in which sport, training and community are perfectly intertwined.
More than an event – an attitude to life
What unites all these events is the special spirit: getting up early before the start, the tense atmosphere in the starting block, burning calves together on the mountain and the euphoric feeling at the finish. On top of that, there are encounters with like-minded people and stories that will be passed down for years to come.
The road bike events are therefore far more than just sporting challenges – they are emotional experiences that take your Roadbike Holidays and your performance to a new level.
