Bandiere Arancioni: fino a Dolceacqua

The journey begins in Imperia, where you will reach the picturesque "Parco Costiero della Riviera Ligure" cycle path. Cycling between land and sea, you cross the entire coast towards France and enjoy the sea breeze until you reach Bordighera. After crossing the "city of palm trees", the route leaves the coast and takes you into the heart of the authentic hinterland. The first stop is Dolceacqua, dominated by its impressive Doria Castle and the famous medieval bridge. The route then continues towards Isolabona and climbs up to the mountain ridges. The route really comes alive with the ascent to the Passo di Ghimbegna, a mountain pass that offers a privileged view of the Ligurian Alps. From here, the transition to Valle Armea begins, passing the village of Ceriana, which is nestled right into the rocks. Before returning to the coast, you will reach Poggi di Sanremo, a natural terrace overlooking the sea, before descending into the heart of the "City of Flowers". Finally, you return from Sanremo to Imperia on the cycle path, completing a circular tour that captures the essence of the Riviera di Ponente.
