Road cycling in Alta Badia
In the heart of the UNESCO World Heritage Site: Alta Badia
The Alta Badia region is situated in the south of the Val Badia, in the South Tyrolean Dolomites. The region scores in particular with the famous Dolomites circular tour – the Sella Ronda. This tour is one of the most beautiful circular routes in the Alps – the spectacular peaks and passes of the Dolomites are simply breath-taking.
Dolomites roaund trip Sellaronda - Info & Tips
The Sella Ronda leads 58 kilometres and approx. 1,800 altitude metres across the famous Gardena Pass, Stelvio Pass, the Pordoi and Campolongo Pass. If you want to compete against others, do this on the Maratona dles Dolomites, one of three routes of this event. Enjoy the route together with other cycle sports enthusiasts without racing against the clock on the Sella Ronda Bike Day, on which the road is closed for cars.
But Alta Badia is also worth a visit when it comes to cultural aspects. Part of the population of the Val Badia and the Gardena Valley, for example, only speaks Ladin. The Ladins are proud of their culture and keep it alive. Their roots are in mountain farming and arts and crafts and you should not miss out on their love and passion for good food.
