Road bike expertise
I am both a landlord and a passionate racing cyclist. I am happy to give you tips on how best to tackle the 12 surrounding Alpine passes. Excellent tour descriptions, personal route tips and individual tour advice are the basic requirements for a successful bike holiday for me and my team. My highlight of the season every year is definitely the Dreiländergiro, which starts and finishes here.
Road bike expertise at the Alpen-Comfort-Hotel Central
When you check into the Alpen-Comfort-Hotel Central in Nauders, you are not just booking a room - you are also booking a portion of passion for road cycling. Because host Harry Ploner is no ordinary hotelier: he is a passionate road biker, Alpine pass enthusiast and local guide with plenty of touring expertise. His passion? Sharing! And with anyone who wants to discover the spectacular region around the Reschen Pass on two narrow tyres.
As a long-time racing cyclist, Harry knows every pass, every climb and every hidden viewpoint. He adds his personal touch to tour descriptions, gives individual route tips and is always on hand to offer his guests advice, assistance and a tyre pump.
He is particularly proud of the legendary Dreiländergiro tour, which starts right on the hotel's doorstep - here you can cycle through Austria, Italy and Switzerland in one day alongside Harry. Harry calls it his "favourite tour" with a wink.
Whether you're a beginner or an Alpine pro: Harry's enthusiasm is infectious, his tips are worth their weight in gold - and his expertise is a truly unique selling point. If you ask for the best route at breakfast, you not only get an answer, but also the story behind the pass. This is exactly how an authentic road bike holiday works in a hotel that thinks along with you from the first to the last metre of altitude. Or as Harry says: "I'm a landlord and a racing cyclist at the same time - and that's what makes the difference."
