Gardena Pass
The Gardena Pass connects Corvara with the Gardena Valley and offers a smooth, panoramic ascent with views of the Sassolungo and Sella Group. Perfect for a relaxed but impressive Dolomite pass ride - also ideal as part of the legendary Sellaronda. A classic with a postcard panorama.
The road bike tour to the Gardena Pass (Passo Gardena) from Corvara is one of the absolute classics in the Dolomites - breathtaking scenery and technically easy to ride. From Corvara (1,560 m), the road winds its way up for around 9 kilometres to the top of the pass at 2,121 m. It covers around 590 metres in altitude with an average gradient of 6-7%.
The ascent begins right in the village centre and leads in wide, even hairpin bends through alpine meadows and past typical Dolomite huts. After just a few kilometres, spectacular views of the Sassolungo, the Sella Group and the Selva Valley open up. The route is well tarmaced and, despite its popularity with tourists, is often quiet - especially early in the morning. A first-class panorama awaits you at the top of the pass with views of Val Gardena, Sella and the Cir peaks. The Gardena Pass is ideal as an introduction to the Sellaronda or as a stand-alone pass for connoisseurs. Due to the even gradient, the pass is also suitable for less experienced mountain bikers - provided you pace yourself. A real Dolomite dream for racing cyclists - short, classic and unforgettable.
