Bohinjsko Jezero - Pokljuka
We start the road bike tour directly at the Hotel Ribno and cycle around 2 kilometres to Lake Bled. We cycle along the shore to the regatta centre, which has twice hosted the World Rowing Championships. We then turn off towards Bohinj - an idyllic valley with small hamlets and a beautiful lake. Once you arrive in Bohinjska Bistrica, you can decide whether to continue to the Savica waterfall (an additional 20 kilometres and a slight climb) or continue through the upper valley towards Pokljuka. The climb begins in the village of Jereka. A section with an average gradient of 8% takes us around 5 km to Koprivnik, where the route flattens out a little. After another 5 scenic kilometres, we reach Gorjuše - a charming mountain village known for its handmade wooden taps. This is followed by the last steep section with gradients of up to 10 % for around 3 kilometres. Once we reach the Pokljuka high plateau, we continue towards Rudno polje. A gentle climb (1-3%) over 10 km awaits us there - the centre of biathlon in Slovenia and the venue for the 2021 Biathlon World Championships. This is followed by a descent of around 25 km back towards Bled. We return to the lake via the village of Gorje and are just a few minutes away from the Hotel Ribno. A sporty, varied tour with a mountain panorama and pure nature.
