Bohinj - Soriška planina - Kranj
We start directly in front of the hotel and cycle around 2 kilometres to Bled. We roll leisurely along the lake to the regatta centre, which has twice hosted the World Rowing Championships. We then turn off in the direction of Bohinj - a valley with charming villages and a picturesque lake. In Bohinjska Bistrica, we turn left, pass a timber factory and reach the start of the ascent. The road is well maintained up to the village of Nemški Rovt. From there, the route becomes more challenging: it climbs up to the Soriška planina ski area at around 1,400 metres. This is followed by a long descent into the Selška valley. At the end, we reach Škofja Loka, one of the oldest towns in Slovenia - perfect for a short break. We then continue via Kranj, the capital of the Gorenjska region, and follow the Sava back to Bled.
