Ötztaler Cycle Marathon

Anyone who wants to take on the Ötztaler Cycle Marathon should be well trained and tough. It is considered extremely difficult, but leads through a unique mountain landscape in the heart of the Alps.

It is regarded as one of the sporting highlights for the best amateur cyclists in the world. 4,000 participants from many countries will line up at the start in Sölden in August 2025, cheered on by thousands of spectators. The route leads north through the Ötztal valley, up the Kühtai saddle, through Innsbruck, over the Brenner Pass, the Jaufen Pass, through St. Leonhard in the Passeier Valley and the strenuous final stage over the 2,474 metre high Timmelsjoch. Participants need around 7 to 14 hours to complete this route.
