Between valley and pass at Hotel Teutschhaus
Vines & Passes: springflow in the Teutschhaus in the sunny south of South Tyrol

Road bike holidays with history & real passion
The Hotel Teutschhaus is no ordinary bike hotel. Mentioned back in 1598 as the “Wirtstafern” tavern, the hotel is now run by the fourth generation of the Teutsch family – with a tangible passion for hospitality and cycling. This is where historical ambience meets modern road bike expertise. Host Walter Teutsch is an avid road cyclist himself and knows the best routes in the region like the back of his hand. He is supported by the hotel's own road bike guide Manfred Joppi, who takes Teutschhaus guests on the most beautiful routes in South Tyrol – from relaxed roll-in tours to legendary mountain passes.
Early start in the perfect training area
A racing bike holiday at the Hotel Teutschhaus scores points not only for its expertise but also for its location: situated directly on the South Tyrolean Wine Road and close to the Adige Valley cycle path, tours start right on the doorstep.
The region offers an extraordinary variety: flat routes to warm up in the valley, gentle hills between vineyards and finally challenging climbs towards the Dolomites - or into Trentino. Highlights such as the Mendel Pass, the Cembra Valley or the foothills of the Dolomites provide plenty of variety in the saddle.
Especially in spring, this mix is ideal for building up your form step by step without immediately pushing yourself to the limit. The mild climate and numerous hours of sunshine around Kurtinig, Tramin and Lake Kaltern provide ideal training conditions from as early as March. Perfect for clocking up the kilometres and getting into shape.
Guided road bike weeks: On tour together
A special highlight are the road bike weeks in spring (19.04. - 26.04.2026) and the autumn weeks (04.10. - 11.10.2026) with guide Manfred. The packages are aimed at all those who would like to experience their road bike holiday at the Hotel Teutschhaus with professional guidance:
- 3 guided tours with guide Manfred are included
- via selected panoramic & pass roads through the south of South Tyrol to Trentino
- Pace and route are individually adapted to the group
- so both ambitious riders and leisure cyclists get their money's worth
- without any pressure to perform, but with maximum experience
Pleasure that lasts
However, a cycling holiday at the Hotel Teutschhaus would not be complete without the culinary highlights. The Teutsch family has been dedicated to sustainable viticulture for generations and produces wines full of character such as Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, Manzoni Bianco and Teroldego on its own estate . For you as a guest, this means real South Tyrolean moments of pleasure right on site. During guided tours of the fruit farm and vineyard and the weekly wine tasting in the historic cellar, you can experience South Tyrol at its most authentic at the Teutschhaus. You should definitely not miss out on this!
After the tours and before the enjoyment, regeneration, rest and deep relaxation await at the Teutschhaus – whether in the wellness area with sauna and steam bath or with a glass of wine in the garden. Every racing cyclist will find their own personal retreat here. The combination of exercise, nature and enjoyment ensures that body and soul are equally recharged. This is exactly what makes the start of the season here so special.
