Gravel biking from natural highlight to city flair

The South Tyrolean Passeier Valley is a mixture of mild Mediterranean and alpine roughness. Gravel bikers, too, can expect multifaceted challenges on rolling gravel among the impressive steep slopes. In one of South Tyrol’s most diverse valleys, with an idyllic Alpine-Mediterranean landscape, you definitely won't get bored on a gravel bike holiday between valley and mountain!

Highlights for your gravel bike holiday

  • Passerdam Trail from St. Leonhard to Merano
  • Alpine tour in St. Leonhard am Passeier
  • Ideal start or end point for gravel transalpine adventures

Gravel bike adventure on the toughest pass in the Alps

Stunning panoramas are guaranteed in the quaintest and most scenically diverse valley in South Tyrol - the Passeier Valley. Gravel bikers enjoy the wind in their face on the diverse gravel paths where passionate road bikers face the toughest pass in the Alpine region - the Timmelsjoch pass.

River gravel biking is big in South Tyrol - the Passerdamm Trail meanders on asphalted and gravel passages along the Passeier through the valley from St. Leonhard to the spa town of Merano. For a refreshment stop, either head to Merano with city flair or bike uphill to the alpine pasture tour. Explore a handful of alpine pastures on the BikeHighline in Merano, while the Pfandler Alm, Hirzerhütte and Staffelalm invite you for a visit along the Passerdamm Trail. The way down to the valley is always via adrenaline-packed trails.

If you still haven't had enough and prefer longer routes, extend the tour via the Via Claudia Augusta into the Vinschgau Valley: extensive gravel and dirt tracks await on the old Roman road surrounded by the impressive landscape of the Stelvio Pass and the meadow landscape along the Suldenbach stream, which are both nature reserves.
