In the Tannheim Valley road bike region you will find all ingredients for a perfect bike holiday in Austria’s mountains: a wide range of tours, a stunning scenery, crystal-clear mountain lakes and of course the excellent Tyrolean cuisine.
The Tannheim Valley is one of Europe’s most beautiful high mountain valleys – lush green meadows, idyllic alpine villages and a stunning mountain panorama are your constant tour companions here. If you also prefer extensive tours, then you have come to the right place. You reach the Arlberg, Lake Constance and even Allgäu in neighbouring Germany on well-maintained asphalt and side roads. An action radius totalling more than 2,500 kilometres of all levels of difficulty is waiting for you in this road bike region. Challenging high mountain tours alternate with flat leisurely routes for hobby bikers.
Our road cycling tour tip to get to know the region
To demonstrate the variety of road bike routes, there is no better tour than the long route of the Tannheim Valley Bike Marathon. You bike 220 km and 3,500 altitude metres from the Alpine foothills uphill to the high mountains. Flat route sections, short and longer passes as well as curvy downhill runs are part of the training tours and are quite challenging.
If you want to learn one or the other trick or simply would like to train with a road bike pro, then we recommend the annual training weeks with Marcel Wüst and Gerrit Glomser, who will bike together with you through the region’s most beautiful valleys and passes.
