Bled, in the northwest of Slovenia, does not only offer one of the country‘s most famous attractions, the region is also home of a road bike paradise with plenty of altitude metres and scenic charms.
Slovenia’s only island is not at the sea but on Lake Bled in the middle of the south of the Eastern Alps. It is not difficult to believe that the lake, with its small island including church, is one of the country’s most famous photo subjects. The landscape here is really impressively beautiful. The region is also known for its mild, curative climate and thermal water.
Road bike tours in the heart of the Slovenian Alps
The landscape is characterised by the mountain ridges of the Julian Alps and the Karavankas and Triglav National Park is in close proximity. The Triglav circular route (Bled - Kranska Gora - Vrsic - Kobarid - Tolmin- Bohanska Bela) is a scenically beautiful but also challenging day tour.
