Biking at the Lake Garda

Lake Garda in Northern Italy is the biggest lake of the country (369,98km²) and invites you to take a swim in summer in the averagely 18 to 20 degrees warm water. The landscape is characterized by extreme contrasts and reaches from the Lake Garda to the impressive peaks of Tremalzo, Monte Baldo and Monte Bondone. Furthermore the region is known for its vinicultural area such as Lugana and Bardolino.

Racing cyclists love the numerous tours on small roads with very little traffic witch lead through the magnificent hilly countryside. In northern direction you cycle through the foothills of the alps and find challenging sections whereas in the east you find the plains in direction Verona.

Especially recommendable is the tour around the south bank of lake Garda combined with a boat trip. The road leads along the lake in northern direction and up into the hills. A highlight is the crossing of the lake with a ferry where one can enjoy the sun, the soft breeze and the unique view.

Lake Zellersee with its 4,5 km² surface, 20 degrees water temperature and the high drinking water quality is the perfect place to freshen up after a challenging tour. It lies idyllically embedded in the green high alpine landscape of the area “Pinzgau” and offers even in summer a breath taking view of the snow covered peak of the Kitzsteinhorn.

The variety of tours in Pinzgau ranges from easy beginner’s routes such as the famous Tauern cycle path to challenging tours as up the mountain Großglockner.
