April - October
Mild temperatures in spring and in autumn ensure a pleasant racing cycle experience. It stays refreshingly mild in the mountains even in summer.
Racing cycle holiday at the Hochkönig
The Hochkönig Region with its idyllic mountain village of Mühlbach, where copper has been mined already 4.000 years ago, is characterised by rugged rocks, green alpine pastures and scenic forests. A real insider tip for every racing cyclist who appreciates individuality.
Hochkönig racing cycle area
Mühlbach is situated at the Hochkönig Road at the base of the ascent to the Dientner Saddle, a mountain saddle situated in the Salzburger Land in 1342 m above sea level. The road pass links Bischofshofen in the Pongau District with Saalfelden in the Pinzgau District.
Racing cycling in the Hochkönig Region
A highly-recommended tour from Mühlbach across the Dientner Saddle and the Filzen Saddle to Zell am See. From there, the tour continues via Lend and Dienten and then back to Mühlbach. Starting in Mühlbach, the Grossglockner can also be taken as a highlight.
Racing cycle tours full of variety lead from Bischofshofen into the Tennengau District and the Pongau District. Depending on ability level, these tours can be adjusted and are a bit easier than the tours in the Pinzgau District.
